Midway through listening I decided to give Rez a quick playthrough (it had been a while since I last played), and subsequently wound up doing one of my Insert Disk images for the game #pixelart #floppydisk #rez

pixel art of a blue 3½ inch floppy disk with a black label. Printed on the label in orange is "Rez™ area 1"; in blue is "SEGA", and in white is "Enhance Games".

A fascinating piece of early Atari 2600 dev history! "City by the Lake" was a 1981 technical demo by Western Technologies, featuring a jet flying over a shimmering city landscape. We take a look at its story and share footage of the surviving demo. www.gamesthatwerent.com/2026/09/city...

I'm not sure what to make of this, but it feels concerning when Bsky shows that your post has reposted N times, but when you click in to see who reposted, shows fewer than N users. You tell me there is 1 repost, then refuse to admit there's any repost at all? Which is it; make up your mind!

adapting existing designs to a limited format often comes down to balancing a set of compromises; in this case, a struggle between representing the original style/letter-forms, maintaining legibility, and making everything fit the available pixels. #pixelart #turbografx-16 #princeofpersia

In my mind, the traditional 3½ inch floppy disk tends to be blue, which eats up one of the few palette entries I'm generally working with. Sometimes I like to use two blues, to play with gradient/dithering, if there's a relevant logo that warrants it.

The disk itself has a Side A marker, warnings against touching or magnetizing the exposed disk, and a raised section with the word Nintendo embossed.

l'Abbaye des morts The original logo type had so many intricate details, I had to simplify it at original size to have any hope of making sense of it when scaled down

pixel art of a blue 3½ inch floppy disk with a black label. The label depicts a large white skull with glowing eyes and a large crack at the top, and the text "l'Abbaye des morts" in fancy yellow text, save for the letter O which is a small white skull. At the bottom it reads "ATARI FALCON" and "COTE GAMERS" in white and yellow respectively.
