Great to see a copy of Setting the Land Free offered as a competition prize in the latest edition of the @irishwildlifetrust.bsky.social's brilliant magazine. The Irish Wildlife Trust is Ireland's most veteran organisation fighting for wild nature (founded 1979), and I'm very proud to be a member.

“I can harsh screech louder than you over there” 🤭 Volume up it’s great. Walking through Nethybridge woodlands - my first visit - it’s stunning. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Several #Jay #Birds communicating to each other? Could be juveniles at dispersal peak being very vocal as they move on to own territory.

The "badger moon" is the traditional Scottish Gaelic name for the October full moon, Gealach a' Bhruic. It's linked to folklore where badgers work under its light to gather and dry grass to prepare their setts for winter, as they don't truly hibernate. Art my own. #Folklore #BadgerMoon #Art

In September we say goodbye to many of the UK bumblebees 💔 🍂 Old queens and their nests will naturally come to an end as summer turns into autumn. 💤 New queens will mate with males, feed heavily on pollen and nectar to create fatty stores of energy, then hibernate until the following spring.
