Personally, my favorite depiction of Selenites are the insect bird people costumes Georges Méliès created for his 1902 silent movie "Le Voyage dans la Lune" (A Trip to the Moon)
Drawing by Georges Méliès for his film A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage dans la Lune). It depicts two Selenites (lunar inhabitants).Acrobats of the Folies Bergère dressed up as Selenites in the movie "Le Voyage dans la Lune." 1902.Statue inspired a drawing by Méliès, done during his retirement in Orly in 1937, in which he revisited the characters of his film. It was made by Félix Labisse in 1960, and first presented in the exhibition "Centenaire Georges Méliès", co-organized by the Cinémathèque française in 1961 at the Palazzo Chiablese in Turin.

a little louder for the cheap seats in the back
One of the biggest myths is that men rape by mistake. Like, "Oh, they need consent training." But research is very clear: Sexual violence is not a mistake. It is an intentionally made decision by people who know they don't have consent. They just don't prioritize consent over things like status, power, domination, and sexual gratification.
For my research, I got a certificate of confidentiality from the National Institutes of Health, so my notes couldn't be subpoenaed. One of the reasons I call them perpetrators in my work is because every single person I interviewed confessed in that context. The first question I would ask them was, "When you received that email from Title IX that you were under investigation, did you know what it was about?" Every perpetrator I interviewed said "yes." If sexual assault were a miscommunication, you would be wondering, What have I possibly done wrong? That is not the way that any of them reacted because they knew.

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

Gratitude and respect for the heroism of Captain Machcchar, who fended off the Islamist terrorist trying to crash Flydubai flight FZ1073 flight, with 180 people onboard. 1/x
Remember this name: Captain Smit Machchhar.
He was the captain stabbed whilst resisting his copilot's attempt to hijack this morning's flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
Passengers and a crew member forced their way into the cockpit and subdued the attacker as he tried to sabotage the aircraft's systems. Other pilots then brought the plane safely down in Saudi Arabia.
An Indian captain, courageous Israeli passengers and crew. Together, they helped avert a catastrophe.
We owe them our gratitude.
Wishing Captain
Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.
