#Blueskyartshow #Earth #Nationalparks #scape It is the sort of country that makes a person stop walking for a while—not because the trail has ended, but because for a few moments there seems nowhere better to go.

Along Bowman Creek, the country opens into a grand assembly of meadow, forest, mountain, and sky. Late-summer grasses have ripened to gold, spreading across the foreground, while a quiet reach of water catches a narrow strip of blue beyond them. Then comes the dark-green forest, dense and unbroken, climbing steadily toward the stone.

Above it rise the mountains—great layered ramparts of gray and brown rock, their sedimentary bands laid bare by frost, water, and ancient ice. The broad summit at left stands massive and almost architectural, while sharper peaks toward the center and right break the skyline into crags, notches, and shadowed gullies. Forest climbs high upon their lower slopes before surrendering to naked stone.

Over this rugged company sails a wonderfully blue Montana sky scattered with brilliant white clouds. One great cloud gathers above the eastern ridge like a luminous mountain of its own, changing shape while the stone beneath seems immovable.
