The fuck?? Leon was pronouncing his surname right on the first fucking try? How was that even possible? Most people would either emphasise the wrong syllables entirely or completely fuck up the second one - the last time he heard someone pronounce it ‘HoDUCKavich' he had to physically hold himself back from throwing hands, and the fact that he spent a lot of time in hospitals for work made it especially problematic.

oh dear. I loaded up the google. I began to write fanfic. I am a 32 year old man.

Bryan didn't have enough fingers - let alone hands - to count how many beers he'd need to get through this fuckin' house party.

Michelle had insisted on dragging him along, her reasoning being that A) her sister Nikki (yeah Nikki obsession there's gonna be a few cameos here. I will also be rescuing kat and bobby backrooms from death in 1990) was back in town, and B) Bryan could be doing so much more with his one free day off work than sitting on his ass all day playing Counter-Strike or whatever, so naturally he felt like he had no choice but to show up. He was barely paying attention to the conversation happening around him, something about someone's shitty day at work, relationship gripes, a movie or TV show that didn't quite live up to the hype or whatever - not like Bryan could even hear a word of it anyway over the music. Whoever had control of the aux was blasting the most basic Top 40 party mix of all time, which wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't so goddamn loud.

Just this once, Bryan would have given anything to be transporting some kid's heart to a hospital in Bumfuck, Illinois right now. Just this fucking once.

He didn't even realise how hard he'd zoned out until someone waved a hand in front of his face.
It was Michelle, obviously. "Hey, earth to Bryan," she said. "Babe, you there?"

Bryan blinked. It'd been weeks since he and Michelle went back to being just friends, yet she still hadn't dropped the habit of calling him
'babe'. "Yeah, no, I'm-I'm good," he coughed.
