THE (ROMANCE) EXCERPT:
"I hate watching myself," I say, sensing the grimace smeared across my face I refuse to wipe.

"Then look at me," he says, reminding me there are two actors on the screen. But his timing is terrible because in that very moment the two actors, us, are silenced by a kiss and I can't look at him without seeing me.

"Well, give it a moment," he says, arms folded as he watches in approval, clearly unbothered by the sight.

I have never seen this footage, but his ease tells me it's not the same for him.

The staged kiss is a tad longer than either of us anticipated; I can tell by the way he adjusts his posture and grazes a hand over his jaw with apparent awe.
"I don't remember it being this long," he says, a chuckle escaping his slack jaw.

"I do."
