Saw the Sting musical The Last Ship last night. Brilliant set design and a great story - but I really struggle with musicals as an art form. They seem to work marginally better as films rather than staged plays (imho)🫤

One of the greatest film producers, Jeremy Thomas, died last night. Bad Timing, Eureka, The Hit, Sexy Beast, The Last Emperor, The Sheltering Sky, Crash, Naked Lunch. I made it back from America to be with him at the end. We drank red wine and cried. Truly loved him.

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.
