Am in the midst of some comparative work on international sustainability regulations for the data centre build out, and few thoughts: - Pleasantly surprised by the breadth of the community investment that's been secured (how binding is it...?) - No way they'll be on site *&* PV powered (cont.)

Absolutely devastating report from Stanford on Brexit’s impact. 📉Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. 📉The Treasury would have £40bn more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Imagine the Chancellor could do with that extra money this week more than most!

Trump has now asked Elon Musk to examine US defence spending. Elon Musk’s companies have multi billion dollar contracts with the Department of Defense and are seeking more. The BBC’s Today Programme just reported the first part, without mentioning the second. Unacceptable

To understand how the US government operates, you’re now better off watching The Sopranos than reading Wilson or de Tocqueville.

It is really ridiculous that the government is prepared to pick a fight with the entire environmental movement in its increasingly more desperate pursuit of economic growth, but not to scrap its entirely made-up "Brexit red lines".
