The legal environment our corrupt Supreme Court has created for this man is that he can do no wrong. But the political truth is that he can do no right. He has made himself illegitimate. That he remains in office despite this isn't evidence to the contrary, it's evidence of systemic political rot

If you are on Facebook or instagram (this does not work on bluesky, sadly) there is an easy and free way you can donate money to New England animal shelters right now! Just post a photo of your pet with the hashtag #SNELovesPets. That's it. Subaru of New England does this every October. 💵

Screenshot of text that says "This October you can help animal shelters in New England raise thousands of dollars just by posting a picture of your pet! Something we all love to do anyway!

Every October Subaru of New England has their hashtag s n e Loves Pets campaign. During the whole month, every time someone posts a pet photo with the s n e loves pets hashtag , Subaru of New England will donate $10 (up to $75,000) to twelve New England animal shelters, including my local Vermont shelter the humane society of Chittenden County.

Please share your love of your pet and help shelter animals by posting photos of your little friends with the hashtag s n e loves pets this month!

Sometimes my wife and I like to send each other text messages as though they’re democratic fundraising messages, and I believe she has produced the jewel of the form.

, it's
and I
have some personal news to share with you.
Being a mom is one of the greatest joys of my life, and I feel deeply that we should have salad tonight
This year has been challenging in many ways, and I have immense gratitude for the kindness and support of family, community, and people like you who have continued to stand by me through everything. It means the world, and I wanted you to be among the first to know that squash is in the oven and kale is in the fridge.

As many of you are aware, ve been navigating one of the most challenging periods of my day while waiting for dinner.
Facing baseless federal hunger brought on by not eating since lunch, fighting for the working kids of this country, and now caring for a mean toddler and helping him grow up in a world that isn't always easy. But it has also reminded me exactly why I do this work and who I do it for.
I will never stop working to eat dinner. I will never stop fighting for what is right, even when there is also some feta in the fridge. And I will never stop being so very thankful that you are by my side in this important work and that there is tahini in the pantry for dressing
With love and gratitude,
stop to end

Our dear dear friend Haley at @friendsofbear.bsky.social has a very sick, sweet geriatric kitty who is in the hospital dealing with some stuff. She posted on her IG that all she’d like for her birthday today is some donations for his care: linktr.ee/friendsofbear

An orange tabby cat who is a bit old and scrungly sleeping inside a cubby bed.

An old orange tabby cat who is a bit disheveled and scrungly, looking quite under the weather with an IV catheter in one leg and a kind hand scritching his cheek gently.

friendsofbearcatrescue one of my favorite little FoB sanctuary buddies Mr. Peaches is currently in the hospital
no pressure but it's my birthday today
and I would love nothing more than if you could donate toward his hospital bill so we can give him the best chance
our donation links are in our bio!
Peaches came to us at the end of May after 13 hard years on the street. His time outside definitely showed, he was in horrendous shape and weighed 5
Ibs of mostly fleas. Since then, we have been managing his various conditions. He's dealt with anemia, congestion, gastric ulcers, kidney disease, horrible dental disease... the list goes on. We've been slowly chipping away at these issues and he was actually starting to feel pretty good! A couple weeks ago, he started backsliding and I've been trying to figure him out. This weekend, it became clear he was declining and what I was doing at home wasn't enough, so I had to admit him to the hospital.
Peaches is dealing with an infection, dehydration, another gastric ulcer, pretty awful congestion and a mild hit to his kidneys. Thankfully, after 24 hrs of fluids, he's showing improvement. Through all of this, he continues to have the loudest purr and best headbutts for everyone who helps him
I feel hopeful that we can get Peaches back on track and give him more time to feel loved and cherished, something he missed out on for his first 13 years of life. If you're able to pitch in $1 or $5 toward his care, we would all appreciate it more than you know.
Everyone who has met this little guy knows how special he is and how much he wants to stick around
thank you all as always for the ongoing support for these gross cats, they are my heart and soul and your donations and kind comments mean the world to me

We're continuing to report on sports betting apps, and we need your help. ProPublica is looking for at least 250 people who use DraftKings and FanDuel to share their data with us and help us understand how the apps respond to user behavior. ➡️ How to help: projects.propublica.org/sports-betti...

A neon green tracker shows that ProPublica has received 28 people's sports betting data, just over 10% of the way towards its goal of 250. Text below reads: If you’re one of millions of Americans who have placed an online bet on a sporting event, you know how quickly you can go from celebrating your wins to feeling like the odds are stacked against you.

ProPublica is trying to understand how sports betting apps incentivize users to keep playing and when they warn users to pump the brakes. To do that, we need your help: We’re aiming for at least 250 people to upload their gambling history from apps like FanDuel and DraftKings. We’re not quite there yet, so if you’ve used these apps, you can help our journalists. If you’ve worked in the industry, you can also help us by answering a few questions. (You can also reach us on Signal.)

We recently helped another cat with severe, debilitating IBD whose symptoms reminded me so much of Eevee, but to get him well from the brink of death cost over $12,000. Simply put, we do not have that right now. But I can’t just continue to let Eevee slip away without doing everything we can to try.
