Thanks for your and @guyyeomans.bsky.social posts. I just noticed the icebreaker reshuffle and quickly dug up what's going on. The Finnish fleet is important (actually very critical part of our national logistics infrastructure), and this move makes good sense. Hope some ⛴️ stay in Helsinki, though.

Wow, end of an era. As much as this makes sense from a #resilience perspective, I wonder if the role of #icebreakers in #Finland won't be as apparent to everyday citizens. Parking them in the middle of Helsinki where everyone can see them was at least, in my view, also a PR move.

Agree, they have been a traditional part of the cityscape. I guess at least some retired ships stay while part of the active #Arctia fleet are relocated to Kemi and Pori. Also, the press release says Helsinki will remain a home port for some icebreakers, so not all are gone. lvm.fi/en/-/two-new...
