Kate is out of ICE detention.
Her attorney called today with the news that ICE had agreed to release her from custody onto supervision. I broke down when I heard it. After 106 days, lam allowed to be near the woman I love.
I owe this to people, and I want to name them.
To the people of Kansas: thank you. Neighbors in Leavenworth who noticed what was happening in their own town. Strangers who shared her story when they had no reason to. People who wrote to their representatives, who sent a message to a man they had never met, who prayed for a woman they had never seen. You carried us through the darkest weeks of my life, and you are the reason anyone in a position of authority ever looked at this case.

Her condition is still difficult. But the doctors are optimistic, and they are doing everything to get her stable and on the road to recovery.
This is the end of a nightmare and the beginning of a long way back
- rebuilding our life, and going through her immigration case the way it should have gone from the start, with due process. The difference is that now she will go through it in safety.
To every one of you: thank you. A thousand times.
