[Paper dragon room] I want to draw more dragons this year, so the first painting of the year has to start off strong

Illustration of a guy starting a new drawing in his room. He has a pet dragon just vibin' next to him. The room is adorned with various images, plants and paintings. There is a giant 2D-3D dragon heading the top of the window and wrapping around the room. Deawn by gdbee art/prinnay in 2025.

Sometimes work sucks so you've just gotta use your break to concentrate on the things that actually matter in life, namely the dog from Yojimbo that trots by with a severed human hand in its mouth

A black and white drawing of that cool-as hell German shepherd-looking dog from the movie Yojimbo who trots by, again, looking cool as hell, with a severed human hand in its mouth

This year I want to create original characters and draw a lot of original characters that I already have. Of course, drawing copyrighted characters is fun, but this year I want to make my own original characters more well known.

Instead of "I apologize for the delay," write "thank you for your patience." In lieu of "sorry for the oversight," write "if you're so perfect, why don't you fu*king do it, Marsha." Follow me for more etiquette tips. 😁

All you newbies drawing their first comic and haven't printed their comic before: 300 dpi, CMYK colours, bleed and safety, 0 0 0 100 K black text on a separate layer. Make sure you have all of these on all of your comics files, otherwise you'll end up like me having to fix 660 pages of my webcomic

Hubby and I got funding to direct a short film adaptation of one of our works! I would LOVE the opportunity to shadow a horror director first - if anyone has a shoot scheduled between now and June of 2025. (Particularly in L.A.) Just putting it out here in the blue skies! 😀

back at it again at Birmingham MCM 👌

Photo of Datcravat's Artist Alley booth, with Datcravat poking her head out the middle. The table is covered in art prints and there is a small display of stickers and pins. The display itself is mostly pink and black. Cravat has brown hair and a fluffy hoodie on. Her hands are placed on the table excitedly and she is smiling at the camera.

Honestly, fuck it. I give up. I would LOVE people to support and share posts from small creators: artists, writers, comedians, poets, film-makers… everyone who is not part of some big corporate organisation, people who are trying to make a go of it on their own. If you don't want to, fine 🤷‍♂️

The big disadvantage of having art not solely as a hobby is that you never can stop thinking about work. It's always present in thoughts, subconsciously or not. Such an exhausting way of making a living but also a very privileged one.

Not gonna go digging for the post that prompted this, but: there’s no wrong way to make art. It’s okay to obsess over a piece, to sweat the nitpicky details, to redo that one line a dozen times until it’s just right. If that’s your process, that’s your process ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
