The web in 2026 is so beautiful and functional.
A view of a webpage on an android device. The actual webpage is approximately 10% of the screen. Everything else is browser chrome and a massive cookie-acceptance modal that steals about 80% of the visual viewport.

Hot take: It's unacceptable that in 2026, it's still standard practice for tools to vomit arbitrary `.whatever` files into the project root and we're expected to `.gitignore` them and then ignore the fact that >=50% of the files visible in the file browser are someone else's transient state.
A file browser listing. It contains __pycache__, .agents, .codex, .pytest_cache, .ruff_cache, .superpowers, .venv, .vscode, .worktrees, build, dist, docs, mutants, src, and .gitignore

Notably: the only files that are actually part of the project are "docs" and "src", and .gitignore is only necessary to exclude all of the other cruft from our project.

Also: .agents and .codex are completely empty. The agent harness just creates them automatically on every turn and doesn't do anything with them.

Money where our mouth is time, I think. @1password.bsky.social, you are not irreplaceable, even if it will be annoying to do so
to: business@1password.com
subj: Giving DHH money means I won't give you more

Hi there! I've been a 1Password customer on my personal account for about ten years; I started with 1Password 6. I've cumulatively managed about 500 business seats across my career.

I'm about to stop being a 1Password customer because 1Password is sponsoring Omarchy. Omarchy's founder, DHH, is an on-the-record proponent of ethnic cleansing. 1Password giving DHH money for his pet Linux distribution is unacceptable behavior. You should know that, and I should not need to be telling you this, but apparently I have to.

If 1Password wishes to retain my business, the company needs to promptly retract this sponsorship, issue an apology for its mistake, and provide a root-cause analysis for how the decision to publicly align with a proponent of ethnic cleansing came to be.

Thanks for your time.

-Ed

Even if you use Copilot to write code, adding it as a "co-author" to your commits is akin to me adding Logitech as a co-author because I use their keyboard. It's not a person. It's an inanimate object.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

This loathsome interregnum is a period of vast uncertainty, sure, but it's also one of truly delirious opportunity. If it was going to happen, and it was always going to happen, then we live now on the cusp of a magnificent work. To live is to suffer, to survive is to have power over the world.

I hope everyone will forgive the bluntness of my language, but it seems like bluntness is warranted: it now seems pretty clear that the president raped children or at least knew about and actively facilitated the rape of children. I think it is time we stopped using coded language to say that.

There's cope temptation to make jokes about it, I get that and have done it too, but it is profoundly dark that the president of the United States is a guy who sent explicit jokes to his good buddy, the world's most notorious pedophile, very obviously about how much they both enjoy raping children.

Sorry to make it worse but there's a part of the WSJ article that no one is talking about that I had to share with someone.
The Epstein estate also turned over another letter from the book that references Trump. It came from businessman and longtime Mar-a-Lago member Joel Pashcow, who made a crude joke about a woman that Trump and Epstein socialized with in the 1990s, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Pashcow letter included a photo of a posterboard-sized check for $22,500, which had been mocked up to appear that it was sent from Trump to Epstein. Beneath it, a handwritten caption said: “Jeffrey showing early talents with money + women sells ‘fully depreciated’ [redacted] to Donald Trump for $22,500.” The woman’s name is redacted in the image.
Photo of three men holding a check for $22,500 made out to Jeffrey Epstein, with handwritten notes discussing the transaction.

Pashcow and his attorney didn’t respond to requests for comment. A lawyer for the woman said she doesn’t know Pashcow and has no knowledge of the letter naming her, which the lawyer called a “disgusting and deeply disturbing hoax.”Letter which reads: "Jeffary showing early talents with money + Women! Sells "Fully depreciated" [Name Redacted] to Donald Trump for 22,500$. Showed early "people skilld" too. Even though I handled the deal I didn't get any of the money on the girl!

Don't dance around it, don't make jokes about it, don't hedge as if it's merely suggestive of the possibility or we need more evidence to confirm. This is a literal signed confession that the president is a pedophile. He is guilty of that most monstrous of crimes. Say it plainly and directly.

I have lost all patience with the apparently unshakeable conviction that striking a reasonable, moderate pose means assuming the sincerity of transparently pretextual horseshit. Donald Trump does not care about reducing crime in DC. He is testing and normalizing paramilitary deployments in cities.
