This had been on my bookshelf for ages. Having loved the first book so much, I approached the sequel with trepidation and even 150 pages in I'm still 50/50 on it, to be honest. It was written in 2020 during the pandemic, which explains its existence. Hopefully it grabs me more as I keep reading.

Got a lovely direct drive turntable at an absolute bargain. The owner was a seasoned record collector and he talked my ears off... boy did he have stories to tell! He was also really excited to show off his 19th century bayonet, but he waved it so hard he poked a hole in his ceiling. Whoops!

My favourite thing about this book is the cover. It's SO GOOD. The overall pacing felt all over the place, though, especially in the last chapter that felt like a Youtube video played at 2x speed compared to what came before it. At least the big reveal was somewhat worth the wait!

Mixed feelings about this one. The art is absolutely stunning and there's many memorable, visceral moments in here, but the mid section goes on for ages and after like the fourth (graphic) instance of domestic abuse I was like 'JESUS OK we get it!' It's been a long day and we managed to do tons of work. Drilling, sanding, scrubbing etc. That pint was well-earned. Also managed to find a kitchen clock that was an absolute bargain. The owner was well-aware he could have easily sold it for 4x more, he just couldn't be arsed. A legend.

There's only one working lift in this building (again) and the management company is trying to shift blame onto all residents rather than fix the damn lifts lmaoooo Imagine trying to tell someone on the 10th floor they have to use the stairs if they're moving flats. GTFO with this shit.

Another LGBT venue closing down, this time it's Chelmsford, and it was, I quote, the "only dedicated LGBTQ+ bar in the county". So yeah. Essex is looking a bit grim now. There's something I've been seeing more recently, and it's the comments saying how there's no need for these venues anymore...

Replaying Resident Evil Village hasn't changed my opinion on it. It's a blast to play and it's perfectly paced. The plot, however, is just preposterous, even by RE standards, and the main retcon is almost offensive. Still, well worth 10 hours of my time. Now onto the story DLC (Shadows of Rose)!
