You must love this drink, I've decided now! 🎵 #vocaloid #miku #cigart

Colourful illustration of Hatsune Miku in the style of a print ad for 'PoPiPo - Vegetable Juice', inspired by the Lamaze-P song. The Kagamines, Meiko, Gakupo and Kaito are around her, enjoying the drink (or proud of farming it, in Kaito's case)

The text reads up top reads "It costs just 200 yen!" and below reads
"Popipo! Mellow and Creamy Vegetable Juice. Fresh from Sapporo, Japan!"

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

stop thinking of indie work as something 'made correctly' or 'made for you' nothing will be 100% made for you unless YOU are the one making it engage with work as it is - you can hold space for what you wanted it to be, but you gotta uncouple yourself from the disappointment or you'll be poisoned

Do not assume that everything they set out to do is inevitable. They have been successfully fought on multiple fronts, from courtroom wins that have actually stuck to city and state governments that haven't backed down, to activists in the streets organizing against their violence.

it'd be nice to see a bit more spread from the sfw crowd on the paypro call campaign situation. mastercard, visa, paypal and stripe making moral calls on what you're allowed to buy is a dangerous precedent. if you can help out, it'd be great.

i think often about this discussion between Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hideaki Anno. it's one of the funniest ways anyone has ever talked about restraint vs self indulgence in art.

Anno: Oh, I’m critical of Porco Rosso, myself.
Tomino: What was wrong with Porco?
Anno: As a picture, nothing. But because I know Miyazaki-san personally, I can’t view it
objectively. His presence in the film is too conspicuous, it’s no good. In other words... it feels like
he’s showing off.
Tomino: How so?
Anno: He has the main character act all self-deprecating, calling himself a pig... but then puts
him in a bright red plane, has him smoking all cool-like, even creates a love triangle between a
cute young thing and a sexy older lady.
Tomino: Ha! I see what you mean. He and | are around the same age, though. So I get how he
feels, unconditionally. So I may think, “Oh boy...” but I can’t stay mad at him (laughs).
Anno gets a little too into talking about underpants, and Tomino of all people has to check hit
Anno: From my point of view, he’s being very presumptuous. Tomino-san, you put so much of
yourself into your works, it is like you’re dancing naked in them. I like that! (balls fists) In Miya-
san’s recent works, he makes you fhink he’s dancing naked... but on second glance, you realize
he’s still wearing underpants. (getting carried away) I hate that! I feel like shouting: “Take it all
off!” (getting really carried away) And to add insult to injury... he’s wearing fancy underpants!
Tomino: You don’t beat around the bush. We get it, we get it already.
Anno: (shrinking) Excuse me.

Tomino: i do get what you mean, and i don’t mean to play devil’s advocate for Miyazaki, but...
generally speaking, that’s just how you get when you age. It’s the same for me, surely. That was
my first time hearing it put so frankly... but you get what I mean already. It does feel nice letting
it all hang out, waving your dick around. That’s how movies ought to be!
Anno: Yes, I agree. I don’t like it when people try to obscure themselves like that. If you’re
gonna wave your dick around, wave it all around! If you don’t have the guts to do that, then wear the best clothing you can.
Tomino: Right... Dress yourself to the nines!
Anno: Commit yourself to putting on a show. He couldn’t do that. I felt betrayed. Like, this guy isn't really naked!

this iconic advertising copywriter named Kathy Hepinstall Parks died over the weekend and I wanted to share something from her website I thought Bluesky would like

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

VISA CAN'T HANG UP ON YOU UNTIL YOU STOP TALKING. YAPPERS, THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE. Talk in circles! Loop back to the same points! Take a minute to "remember" a word! Your goal isn't to change their minds, it's to keep talking for as long as possible to waste their money and clog call centers.

Take this as a call to start moving your stuff away from online hosting where possible - if you have to distribute your work, export it as a PDF, upload it to a hosting platform, and keep local copies available as backup (no, uploading them to Discord/Telegram is not a viable alternative).

You can't defend gore, violent, gruesome media without defending sex and erotic media. Both go hand in hand, there's eroticism in the grotesque, theres horror in the sensual. Your "purity" about sex won't save you if you think making war is better than making love

Here's how you remove Google AI from your mobile devices.

amongussexgif

...

Instead of being in settings its in the google app. Also, google, not chrome. Icon is a G, not the circle thing. Click on your pfp to open a menu

From there, go Settings > Gemini > Digital Assistants > Switch to Google Assistant. This disables Gemini, google's Al assistant, and switches you back to the old one. We aren't done yet.

Go back to Settings. From there, we go Settings > Google Assistant > scroll to find General > Google Assitant on/off > turn it off

They really tried their best to make it a pain, but you can eventually disable it. Holding the power button on your phone still pulls up a menu and asks you to turn it back on, but this is the least intrusive you can make it.

Applies to all non-apple phones afaik. For sure Samsungs and Pixels but idrk about others

Edit: thank you my friend @/teeth-kid for confirming that this also works on Motorola
