This was the problem with Eldar last edition imo. Tons of “not the optimal” units and detachments that were still pretty close (ironically a good thing) that made nerfing them like peeling an op onion

That units that would do 90% as well as the optimal unit to do the same task etc. will hardly ever see gameplay is a very tournament specific balance problem that trickles down to the rest of the player base.

Today I had an AI system give me the wrong reason for a transaction problem, had to go through three circular loops of "What's your problem -> Lets connect you with someone -> What's your problem", and then direct me to an entirely incorrect department. But sure, this is days from ending humankind.

I liked the old "Spycraft" game's approach to this. You had two HP pools - one that was the normal one increasing in level, and one that was essentially just your CON score (IIRC). Hits to the first ones weren't hits. They were shattering wooden tables you were hiding behind, and near misses, etc.

Someone in my club asking "Is X game still supported?" radicalized me. There are rules. There are models. It is a mostly complete line. A constant churn of new releases and errata does not actually a supported game make.

So I checked, and not only is that a thing, but there are TWO CHARACTERS who have that as a power. One is Mikiko Kawamoto from Devilman, the other is Melona from Queen's Blade. I can't tell if this is a two nickels situation or a second character has hit the towers situation.
