When authoritarian regimes collapse, their leaders experience symbolic deaths, largely through the destruction & removal of monuments that they've built to glorify themselves and affirm their power. The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, Baldur's Gate 3, and Fury of the Forsaken all use a 5 part structure of three open sandboxes, linked by multiple choice funnels, framed by an intro and a conclusion/final battle to provide story cohesion. It's a great scaffolding for #TTRPG adventure design:
