The key to success in TTRPGs is to play a system in which the DM gives out little trinkets/good girl points to players who roleplay well, and to beg for them at every possible opportunity (i.e. when you biff a roll) Like also do the roleplay well but don't forget the begging. It's important.

"Koihime" is a PC-98 ADV made by Silky's in 1995 that was later remade for Windows by Elf in 1999. While the PC-98 version featured sepia-colored BGs & a vertical textbox, the remake rolls with a horizontal textbox, full color BGs, & new char designs. Both have their charms!

Thinking about taikyoku shogi, or ultimate shogi, a 16th/17th century variant, with a 36x36 grid (modern shogi is 9x9) and over 200 unique pieces. I don't think it was ever widely played but could you imagine the meta. It'd put modern games to shame
