The ‘this is how you get your DnD friends into VtM’ is so weird since DnD players are allergic to other systems regardless. They already try shoving other games into 5e. A rules-light ‘accelerated’ VtM ruleset would be way better to get people into VtM who are intimidated or scared.

It was very clear to me. D&D teaches new players assumptions of how TTRPGs are played. Non-trad TTRPGs intentionally broke those assumptions. However those D&D players often try to play as if the game is D&D, and then loudly complain.

So in principle I probably agree with this (non-initiative is, ime, much more intuitive and natural for my groups!), however I do think it’s 100% reasonable that someone who has only played games with initiative may struggle with non-initiative systems. They require very different mindsets!

Ride or Die is pretty minimalist in its rules, so I'm going maximalist in presentation. Having way too much fun. :)
