Furry needs more, smaller events. Not just cons. Arts markets, one-off dance nights, pub nights, BBQs in the park and beach trips. Don't get too focused on the big giant conventions when there's a thriving community all around you! (And if there isn't, build one!)

Devastated to hear that Bob Nelson, aka Anthrocoon, passed away yesterday here in Boston. I have seen and gotten a hug and chat with Bob at every local con and AC since I joined. Bob had attended every Anthrocon since it started, as he found furry in the mid 90s.
