Listening to Daggerbound by T. Kingfisher & the narrator is really nailing it. This book has an insectoid creature that speaks human language by using a music box-like device & Jesse Vilinsky absolutely nails this impression. It's cracking me tf up but it's so perfect, pure skill 😂

Cavity on 2 molars where they touch. The worse 1 has an old filling & needs crowned. Other just needs a filling. Bc this place is an emergency dental facility they don't take insurance but they do not recommend he wait or the tooth could get worse & need a root canal. 🦷 8pm procedure it is!

Propert next door got their concrete forms set today & are filling some areas with stone. I wonder when they'll get to pouring!

A large pit excavated deep in the ground next to my house, as seen from my front porch. There are short white concrete forms set in the bottom of the pit that make the outline of the future house's foundation. The forms will have concrete poured in them to create the house's foundation. The area is currently being filled with gravel by a truck on the street blasting a stream across the width of the pit. It's a little muddy from recent rain.

The colleague I sit next to used to fix phones & told me about ifixit.com, which has step by step repair guides & sells replacement parts. $25 for a battery + adhesive, $9 for screen adhesive. I can fix this myself for $34, and maybe splurge an extra $25 for a kit of tools that will make it easier

Turns out it's bc the battery swole & needs replaced which Apple fixes by just replacing the whole watch at new watch prices. Apparently I have an old Series 6 & the Series 12 comes out Friday so it's better to buy a new watch at that price or find an Apple certified 3rd party to replace the battery

I decided to try water propagating some of the smaller banana tree offshoots that had rhizome but not much in the way of roots. Pleased to report that we're getting excellent results! 🌱 🍌🌴

Chicken egg foo young at a great place we hadn't tried before, everything was excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🍜 🍽️

A shallow serving bowl with chicken egg foo young, which is kinda like Chinese deep fried omelets in a savory gravy. This is a semi-transparent chicken gravy that looks bright orange with bits of peas and carrot in it. It fills the shallow bowl and coats the omelets.
