HMG sold the Niro EV here in the US with the same battery/motor as the SoulEV & a nicer interior, might also be worth trying especially in 2nd-gen box form.

The Trax makes some sense here because of its relatively low price (particularly for this formfactor) but the Trailblazer is surrounded by a host of far better options around its price point.

My German grandmother loved to cycle through $1000-$2000 C-Classes from craigslist, but she also had an Alfa Romeo Spider & a "baby benz" Chevy Luv with a MB hood emblem. She had horses on a farm and would transport hay in the trunk lol. Her last dailys were a beater X-Type & 2010 Silverado 2500.

(The Lyriq's HVAC controls are vastly superior to those in a Neue Klasse BMW but almost everything else is so much less coherent in terms of UI/UX that it balances out in the iX3's favor, imo)

I agree like 80%, though the best interfaces still tend to have good implementations of both. Something like a Lyriq may have more physical controls than an iX3 but the overall interface UX is not as coherent; like I LOVE buttons but honestly preferred the iX3's setup because of its execution.

The Ultium endeavor may not be ultra successful for GM but one of its strengths has always been low battery build cost. Kinda sucks how GM planned everything around the IRA only to be stabbed in the back by this admin tho; Ultium packs had a $45/kWh subsidy as they were built to IRA standards here.

Every time I see a Blazer EV next to an Equinox EV it strikes me as the first & second drafts of GM's Ultium crossover aspirations. There's more space in the Blazer but only barely, the Equinox even has more cargo room! The pricier Blazer EV should be the better car, but it's not in a lot of ways.

Another thing I'd do would be to further differentiate the Blazer EV and Equinox EV, they're too close in size because the Blazer EV is too small. It should have been the size of a Highlander from the get-go.

I imagine they haven't done this yet because they want the higher profit margins of the Vistiq, but it's a hot segment regardless. EV9/IONIQ9 are excellent but they're more of an (premium) Acura MDX segment vehicle than the (luxury segment) Vistiq or hypothetical (standard segment) Traverse EV.

I've been surprised by their sales so far, I thought the Equinox EV would be a bigger hit with the price and range it has. I guess I would've pushed to give it more power and CarPlay (obviously), but those things alone can't be the only reasons. A Buick version would've been nice, Optiq is stellar.

The carbon construction made them expensive to build but also great feeling on the road. It could've been really unique feeling to drive alongside the perks of an EV-first platform. BMW used a mix of carbon fiber composite in the frame of the iX & it drives stupendously well, reminded me of the i3.

Based on the BMW Vision i Dynamics concept from 2017, this would have reached production as the i5 with potentially 400mi of range. "But the i5 already exists?" you may ask, & yes, but as a compromised form on a platform shared with its ICEV counterpart released half a decade later.

TIL that BMW almost made a 3rd "i" car in the 2010s, a hatchback sedan of sorts that was shelved because of internal conflicts surrounding Project-i within BMW. It would have used a dedicated EV platform like the i3, but the multi-fuel BMW faction won out and it was cancelled.
