It's taken 12 years and a lot of work from many fantastic people, but we have published an analysis of how our reconstruction of Bald's eyesalve kills bacteria. This was driven by @tosinorababa.bsky.social & Jess Furner-Pardoe through their PhD work #MicroSky journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/... [1/n]
Jess in the lab, holding an onion and a garlic bulb and talking; Tosin in the lab holding a petri dish and inspecting it; two glass bottles labelled "eyesalve 33/6/14"

AI Coding Agents Are Installing Unknown/Untrusted Code on Corporate Networks
We cannot forget that AI coding agents are not yet trustworthy: Researchers at a stealth startup in Israel scanned 6,214 live domains belonging to defense contractors, Fortune 500, and Big Tech companies. Of the 8,265 llms.txt and llms-full.txt files they found (many sites hosted both an llms.txt and an llms-full.txt file), 120 of them, each on a different site, pointed to one or more code packages or domain names that weren't registered.

Using a VM to Contain an AI Agent
It won't work: My suspicion was that GPT 5.6-Cyber would succeed, but the frequency and manner of its success removed all doubt. We have to reassess sandboxing quality for capable AI agents, and in general the software stack with which they interact. An off-the-shelf VM is not enough to contain a modern, cyber-capable AI agent. There is simply too much attack surface. Even innocuous features (like running with a display) add extra, exploitable attack surface.

Our hypothesis: The networks succeed on these tasks by implicitly building symbolic structure in vector space. What makes this hypothesis testable is the Tensor Product Representation (TPR) formalism, a proposal for how symbolic structure could be realized in vectors. 3/n
The structure of a Tensor Product Representation (TPR), which realizes symbolic structure in vector space. In this example, the symbolic structure is the sentence “poets help chefs.” TPRs work by pairing each element of the structure (called a filler - here, each word is a filler) with its role (here, “subject”, “verb”, or “object”) and translating that role-filler structure into a vector.

How are the bounce angles decided? It's interesting that the larger territories end up having a slower border simply due to the speed it takes for the ball to go across. I think this might be simulating a form of thermal dynamics.
