Did the pre-release for Reality Fracture at Meeples Games in West Seattle, last night. Accidentally built an Angel typal deck between 3 Lyra's & 2 Blossom-Blessed Angels. Ended up going 1-1-1 with pretty much every game turning into a grindy board stall. Still, a fun night! #magicthegathering

Shark Heart. I really enjoyed this. It was sad, poetic and used its unusual premise to explore love, loss, family, illness and a variety of human topics that felt resonate and holistic. I read a lot as a kid, but before 6th grade it was mainly a lot of Choose Your Own Adventure and Uncanny X-Men comics. But in 6th grade I discovered The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and it was the first series I remember consuming voraciously.

I've reached the point where I have enough Commander decks that I often find I get a little decision paralysis when it comes time to choose which one to play. So, to sidestep that, I've made a "Deck of Decks." Now I can just shuffle that, draw one and play the resulting deck. #mtgcommander #mtg

Played 2 events at the #Commandfest in Tacoma, yesterday. First one was Full Set Sealed. I got Adventures in the Forgotten Realms and ill-advisedly decided to do 5-color dragons, using Tiamat and all the Mythic & Rare dragons, plus a lot of treasures. Not surprisingly, this went 0-2 (and a bye). 1/2

I was thinking about 200 card Commander decks this morning (as one does) & was wondering: What if there was a variant where everyone built 200 card decks; but at the start of the game you shuffled, split your deck in half and put the lower half aside, so you still just played with 99 card decks. 1/2

Secrets of Strixhaven prerelease deck! I was pretty excited about this white-black-green deck made up almost exclusively of 2 and 3 drop cards. But it's lack of a good top end finisher and that I effectively played 3 mirror matches resulted in a 0-1-2 record for the evening. Still, a very fun night!

40 Magic the Gathering cards s0read out on a play mat. All the cards are some mix of white, black or green. Rares include Stirring Hopesinger, Professor Dellian Fel and Great Hall of the Biblioplex .

Yes, I tracked down the article. And yes, it details how scientists were investigating using blood and urine to make concrete, so that space colonists could live in houses built from their own gore like some sort of grimdark Warhammer 40k characters.

Paragraph detailing how studies show you could effectively make concrete from blood or urine, but that asking colonists to repeatedly drain themselves is seen as a "drawback."

I've been fixating on the idea of a Commander Deck for Magic the Gathering that, instead of defeating the other players, would focus on defeating the game of Magic itself. It hinges on these two creatures. If you had both out, you would create a state where no one can win OR lose. 1/3 #mtg #magic
