13. I also like this chair a lot and I think this record player is just the coolest thing. I would LOVE to have a record player like this one day. Part of why I like this exhibit so much is because for my entire life I have decorated my room with a space theme.

12. This museum is fun because I somehow want all of it to be in my home. I think this is the art piece I would want the most. I just love the colors, layers, and energy that radiates from it.

10. I thought this TV was so cool. I would love if I owned this. It made me miss when we designed things to look cool instead of just function. #ConArtInSitu

8. Here is my favorite Colorado themed piece. I like how vibrant the colors are and how striking the landscape is. It reminds me of some of the art I liked in the 19th century Europe exhibit. I think what I like is that it feels like what I see in dreams. #ConArtInSitu

3. I think this is my favorite piece in this room. It’s called “Red Vibrations in Cool Space”. I think he really nailed the look of vibrations. #ConArtInSitu

19. This piece, “Seven Sisters”, is very striking but what was most fascinating is that the seven sisters story is one that is told by indigenous people all over the world. I know that all people are connected but it’s insane how the stories told here are also told there!

1. This week, I was not able to go to the Denver Museum of Art on Monday because I was working on my engineering capstone. Our final showcase is this Friday, so we were gathering content for the showcase. Here is a video we recorded on Monday. #ConArtInSitu

20. I'm reflecting on some of the pieces I saw yesterday, and this one is stuck in my head. I'm not sure what this piece is called, but it reminded me of the text in a different part of the exhibit that said: "A mask may reveal or conceal, but it will never tell the truth." Is this on purpose?

16. I stopped into the fish fence nets exhibit on the first floor. I felt this exhibit was very moving. The video of the women explaining how the nets are made and what they mean was very powerful. Seeing the nets layered onto one another reminded me of all the layers of history behind individuals.

15. As I made my way downstairs, I was shocked at how much of this museum I hadn’t noticed before. For example, I have NEVER seen the “As to be in plain sight” piece. I also never noticed all the little stick figures climbing up to the top on each level. This place is like Mary Poppin’s bag.

14. As I exited the third floor exhibit, I really appreciated the architecture of the Hamilton building. The use of light is so striking. When I was little, I wanted to be an architect. Seeing buildings like these makes me feel attached to that version of myself again. #ConArtInSitu

Generally, a lot of that floor made me feel nostalgic. Something about the colors, the architecture, the textures, and the pieces themselves, really reminded me of my childhood. These pieces specifically spoke to me the most. #ConArtInSitu

10. I think the slant of the walls make me feel curious. It reminds me of being a child and wanting to explore lots of different textures and areas. It also has a very cool impact on the artwork. These pieces by Susan Wick have a stronger emotional pull because of the slanted wall. #ConArtInSitu

8. I’m sitting in the “Sleepers” exhibit. This is cool! It reminds me a bit of the Blair Witch Project in an odd way. I’d like to spend more time with this piece. #ConArtInSitu

5. The next piece that caught my eye was this kente. For the last few years, I have been in a community choir based at DU called The Spirituals Project. The mission of the choir is to preserve and revitalize the teachings of the spirituals. At all our concerts, we wear kente stoles. #ConArtInSitu

3. I found it! This piece is so striking. Wilson is tackling such profound themes with such simplicity it is impressive. Other than the obvious of Atlas standing on a book titled “Arts of Africa,” I noticed how one of the books that he is holding is called “guide to civilization”. #ConArtInSity

2. I decided that I’m going to go top to bottom today in terms of exploring the exhibits. I’m starting on the 5th floor of the Hamilton building. I’ve been to this museum many times but have never been up here or seen this. I think this is a good example of how this building is art itself.

Just arrived at DAM. I went downstairs in the Hamilton building and I feel like I’ve found a secret area. To my understanding this area is for hosting meetings. The hands on the walls are signed with what I believe is the donors signatures. It reminded me that this museum is still a business.

This pieces reminds me the most of home. As soon as I saw it, I thought of a photo my dad sent me two weeks ago from our house. The clouds and the colors in the southwest are truly so remarkable. #ConArtInSitu

While I was in that exhibit, I also saw this painting by Alexander Bierstadt. Over spring break, I went to the MET and saw this piece by Bierstadt. If I remember correctly, these two pieces are of the same region. His work is really impressive. #ConArtInSitu

Just wandered around the American West Art exhibit. It feel very comforting to me. I was born in Arizona and my parents just moved back so I feel a strong connection to the southwest. The pieces reminded me a lot of that home. I also found a cool view on the capitol/downtown.

The next place I have wandered to is the room of exploration (i think). This space is a cross between the coolest preschool ever and Ikea. I like how many areas in this museum take children into account. I would have gone crazy for this room as a child. #ConArtInSitu

Sitting here, I’m able to see the variety of architecture downtown. The public library is so different from city hall, which is so different from the white kinda weird looking building, which is VERY different from the tall box sky scraper. #ConArtInSitu

I’ve moved to the Sturm Grand Pavillion on the other side of the bridge. I love this space. The view is so impressive and the warped windows have a cool effect. The last few times I’ve been here the windows were closed so I’m glad I got to see them open. #ConArtInSitu

I’ve moved to the 19th century exhibit. I’ve seen this exhibit before and like a lot of the pieces here but I don’t feel that they provoke any thoughts really. I feel like they are mostly just pretty.

From my initial impressions, there is a large focus on patterns and textures. I really really like all these pieces. The scale of them is also very impressive and I can’t wait to learn more about what they represent.

Unfortunately today I can’t come to MCA because I am struck with my senior design project. It is not working. I think sometimes engineering is like art because it’s difficult and takes an absurd amount of time #ConArtInSitu I am planning on going to MCA tomorrow to go spend more time with the pieces

I think these pieces are meant to look like vacuum sealed bags that are often common when packing things in a move. After reading what the installation is about, I like how these pieces represent travel and constant transition. #ConArtInSitu

I really liked this piece “Chaos at noon”. It reminded me of the art pieces in my childhood home that my great grandfather painted. Some of the defining traits of my great grandfathers paintings are that things seem familiar and you think you know what you are seeing but you don’t.
