Week 10 Skeet 11/30 #ConArtInSitu This piece in the art building gong might be my favorite on this floor. Initially I thought it was sort of crude with the thick drawn lines but then I start noticing every intentional smudge of color and it’s just so impressive. One of those things I could never do

week 10 skeet 2/30 #ConArtInSitu Do works of art stand alone? I think works of art definitely stand alone, I think in some ways it is more impressive when a work of art can stand alone. For instance if you walked into a gallery and one piece just drew all your attention and nothing else really

Week 7 Skeet 21/25 #ConArtInSitu Andy Warhol, banana prints, album cover, mass reproduction and the multiple: The whole banana thing does nothing for me. I don't like it. I have no real thoughts or eye opening revelations because I am just shut off to the whole thing.

Week 5 Skeet 20/20 #ConArtInSitu What are emotions you have felt when looking at art? When looking at art I have felt inspired, sad, happy, and curious. These are the typical emotions that I think a really great piece of can bring out in me. I will say not a lot of art makes me feel that much though

Week 5 skeet 19/20 #ConArtInSitu It may not be contemporary but next time I go to the Denver art museum I’d like to find the room with landscape paintings, I always find those really impressive. #excited

Week 5 skeet 10/20 #ConArtInSitu I’ve always found this kind of ancient clothing really interesting because it shows how they approached the same problems we faced but with their own technology. If I owned this I’d never take it off

week 3 skeet 6/20 #ConArtInSitu This week I wasn't able to attend the MCA with everyone because I had an appointment for something else. That didn't stop me from taking in some contemporary art though! #cantakethevieweroutthecontemporarymuseumbutcanttakethecontemporaryouttheviewer.

Week 3 Skeet 1/20 #ConArtInSitu Could I live with a work in my home? I wouldn't be able to live with the waterfall by Hernando in my home. Mainly because it is too large, I need a functional space, and if that work is taking over my whole living space, I fear I'd become annoyed.

Week 2 Skeet 1/20 #ConArtInSitu What is “Contemporary”? To me “Contemporary” means something that is present or ongoing. It can be world news, small personal events, or local trends/news. Anything that’s happening or has happened and is still relevant should fit into the category of contemporary.

Week 1 Skeet 17/20 #ConArtInSitu Going to the contemporary art museum has me excited to see the other museums in Denver, I hope they have cooler architecture.

000

mcskeeterson.bsky.social @mcskeeterson.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Week 1 Skeet 16/20 #ConArtInSitu The Denver contemporary art museum is cool but the building is weird, it doesn’t have a very fun or creative vibe cuz it’s all just concrete. Also people are paid to stand in the corner and look at you, not messing with that. As a new art enjoyer it was intimidating.

000

mcskeeterson.bsky.social @mcskeeterson.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Week 1 Skeet 15/20 #ConArtInSitu I thought the fact that the Denver contemporary art museum doesn’t actually own any pieces to be really interesting. I bet that’s nice for both the workers and the artists as it inspires fresh ideas and new pieces.

000

mcskeeterson.bsky.social @mcskeeterson.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Week 1 Skeet 14/20 #ConArtInSitu I’m not much of an experienced art viewer but I was not messing with the hair exhibits on the first floor. Kind of freaky #pullinweaves #alwaysinthebarbershop

Week 1 Skeet 12/20 #ConArtInSitu I learned about the library system here at the contemporary museum. I think that’s pretty nifty. I feel like most museums are worried about people touching things not encouraging people to take them. This is what I’d take home:

Week 1 Skeet 11/20 #ConArtInSitu “The Allies” by Ana Hernando. These are pretty cool, I bet they were hard to make cuz they’re huge. They look like something you could eat. #IdEatThem

mcskeeterson.bsky.social @mcskeeterson.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Week 1 Skeet 10/20 #ConArtInSitu Huge fan of these guys. Remind me of something my grandma would have in her house. The contrast from the boring concrete room to these is kind of sad tho. #fruit

000

mcskeeterson.bsky.social @mcskeeterson.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Week 1 Skeet 9/20 #ConArtInSitu This piece “Rain of Full Moon” by Hernando doesn’t really do it for me. It’s creative but it just doesn’t inspire anything in me.

010

mcskeeterson.bsky.social @mcskeeterson.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Week 1 skeet 8/20 #ConArtInSitu This piece is really cool, reminds me of a crashing wave on a sunny day or something out of the Lorax movie. I wish you could lay in it. The more you look at it the more the shades of pink seem to shimmer. #magical

Week 1 skeet 7/20 #ConArtInSitu Took the light rail to the Contemporary Art Museum in Denver today. Super efficient, I think it’s cool that a building like this is so accessible off of public transportation, reminds me of how it might be in European cities. Makes a good cheap rainy day activity.
