i think if i was gonna teach an introductory course on the development of the modern jrpg my reading list would include (at a minimum) wizardry, dq3, ff4, ff7, and then maybe like, tales of the abyss and bravely default. not 100% confident in my history but i could tell a good story with this set

having played this several times during development i would rate sealed fortress as the most sraekacore indie rpg i have played. it strikes that perfect balance where combat stays engaging and rewarding the whole game through
