Don't remember the timing, but it was basically a mix of E.T./The Little Mermaid/The Wizard of Oz. Why yes, I am a giant weenie. It should not surprise anyone to know I HATE scary movies.

I got a copilot premium license from MPOW. Quickly realized that not only did it auto embed copilot in every single Office desktop app, but that it will run in these apps without me telling it to - so, it will automatically generate a summary of a Word doc as soon as I open it.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

OH MY GOD EVERYBODY I just learned about reciprocard.com , which lets you enter your public library and find out all the places you can get a card on Libby. I had not known my Minuteman card actually gave me *every network in the state*, including the flawlessly-named CLAMS?!?!

Discover which reciprocal library systems you can access based on where you live. More cards means more books on Libby.

it’s long past time lawmakers addressed how companies have taken the switch to digital to redefine purchases as licensing rather than ownership. it’s most egregious when it comes to libraries, but it’s harmful to everyone.

What a stupid, ridiculous, disingenuous hill to stake too. Because it makes total sense to support someone who's tearing apart the very fabrics of society JUST because you think people need to vote in person dag nabbit.

Lol my alma mater is on here. Oh Ball State. And not surprising. I remember a news story when I attended about a student in Alaska who got in trouble for wearing a Ball State hat to high school.

They want more MOMS at home. And not just because they hate women. Their *economic* model depends on unpaid labor. And the most effective way to coerce unpaid labor is to create a second class of people and teach them that they're only "naturally" suited for labor they're forced to do for free.
From the NYT:

Not Just More Babies: These Republicans Want More Parents at Home
As the Trump administration shrinks federal child care programs, Republicans are backing policies they hope will allow more parents to scale back at work.

Tried this new trick a coworker taught me for heating up my lunch when you don't wanna use a microwave but you don't have a toaster oven. I give it 3 stars.
Good sitting in a small bed of aluminum foil on top of a regular toaster.
