Interesting. Full deletion of all introns in yeast was actually my project in the Staley lab, *20 years ago*. I actually found a bunch of phenotypes. We did this in collaboration with the Guthrie lab. www.cell.com/cell/abstrac...

The US built the greatest talent magnet ever, attracting the smart, skilled, and striving. They’d come to study, then stay and build things here, or leave with positive impressions and fruitful connections. Helped make the US wealthy and powerful. Then America chose to throw it away. And for what?

Portrait orientation photograph of a meadow in thick forest viewed over a split rail fence, with a small hut at center. Hundreds of glowing yellow orbs light up the scene.

That’s a long way from frog experiments, and now the antivax crowd is trying to fashion it into a gene therapy. Oh the irony.

(We're all having a laugh here, but you know what's not funny? Authors commenting on matters outside the text of the book as if their opinion matters. Books belong to their readers! The opinion of an author on matters other than intent should not be privileged over other readers!)

My move here was also motivated by avoidance of the coming Trump onslaught as much as possible. I‘ll make this one exception because it‘s from Stephen King.
