2025 wurden in Deutschland 4.070 neu diagnostizierte Tuberkulose-Fälle gemeldet. Das ist ein Rückgang um 8 % gegenüber 2024 (4.408 Fälle). Trotz dieser positiven Entwicklung bleiben Herausforderungen:

• Multiresistente Tuberkulose: Der Anteil liegt bei 4 %. Das ist deutlich rückläufig, aber im internationalen und EU-Vergleich erhöht.

• Kinder: 237 gemeldete Fälle (2023: 237; 2024: 232). Das ist ein Indikator für kürzlich erworbene Infektionen.

Deutschland gehört zu den Ländern mit niedriger Inzidenz.

Weltweit erkranken jährlich 10,7 Millionen Menschen an Tuberkulose, darunter 1,2 Millionen Kinder. Die Krankheit bleibt eine globale Bedrohung, besonders in Ländern mit schlechter Gesundheitsversorgung.

Das Risiko einer tuberkulösen Infektion hängt von der Wahrscheinlichkeit einer Exposition gegenüber einem Menschen mit ansteckender Tuberkulose ab. Daher spielt auch die Häufigkeit der Erkrankung in der Region, in der man längere Zeit gelebt hat, eine wesentliche Rolle. Man kann man sich aber auch in Deutschland mit Tuberkulose infizieren.

Bei Erwachsenen entwickelt sich aus einer Infektion in 5–10 % der Fälle eine Tuberkulose, bei Kindern ist das Risiko deutlich höher.

SEPTICAEMIA SYMPTOMS:
fever and shivering
severe pains and aches in limbs and joints
cold hands and feet
pale or blotchy skin
very rapid or difficulty breathing
diarrhoea, stomach cramps
red or purple “blood spots” or blotchy rash on skin that does not fade under pressure – do the GLASS TEST. On dark skin, check other places such as the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, inside the mouth (roof), and the whites of the eyes
confusion, delirium
severe sleepiness, losing consciousness


If you become worried about yourself, your child, or a friend, particularly if symptoms are getting worse, seek medical help urgently.
EARLY TREATMENT CAN BE LIFE-SAVING.
