This is a lino cut by my friend Beth (I hope this is allowed). I absolutely ADORE it. I bought one, you should too. www.etsy.com/listing/4515...

No. I'm not perfect so I'm bound to be wrong about a lot of stuff. I am frequently wrong when pressed to give directions. I am sure my strong sense of justice is right but not everyone agrees with me on that one.

Isnt it a criminal offence to interfere with emergency services? And if this interference leads to a preventable death or injury, shouldnt these thugs be held responsible?

Their problems. Life's hard sometimes and the creative process is not always an easy one, and some people believe that predictive text, sorry generative AI, will enable them to bypass all the hard parts to get to the same point as someone creating normally. In fact they're led backwards into a pool

Generative AI is basically predictive text and predictive text is not progress. Its absurd that anyone is falling for this nonsense, much less paying money for it, or giving over the creative process to it. Its not evil AI which is the problem, it's people believing that one thing will solve all

#BookSky If you only buy one book this year, make it this one. Utterly unique, beautiful storytelling, with a warm humour and full of kind generous characters who are just trying to do the best they can with the life they have, and have the sort of eccentricities I recognise in myself.

I don't disagree but for any type of energy production which relies on steam to drive a turbine, water is always needed, not just nuclear. This includes coal fired power stations and large solar plants. Without sufficient water, most power plants are going to struggle.

Josie H @trombonejo.bsky.social · 02/08/2026
Its not that you dont have a point. But this would be the case for most forms of energy production, not just nuclear. Its just different ways to produce steam to drive a turbine. If energy is produced in this way, water is always needed.

Finally realised why I don't like voice notes. People do them because they find typing tedious -- it takes too long. But because speaking is easier, they say FAR more than they need to, meaning recipient has to listen for ages, mostly to waffle. It's shifting the extra effort onto the receiver.

THREAD. A collection of photos I have taken of excellent cats I have met on walks. You will find the captions to the photos in the alt text.
A cat on a wall, ranting relatably to me about the way modern TV documentaries are so frantically, pathetically worried about losing the viewer’s attention, employ endless precaps and recaps, lazily emotionally manipulate the viewer with overplayed songs and talk to that viewer as if that viewer is a small child, rather than a fully grown human, or cat.

Years ago I bought a ticket with a valid young persons railcard. Sometime between that time and getting on the train I lost my railcard. When my ticket was checked I apologised and offered politely to buy a full price ticket. Because I was polite, the inspector very kindly allowed me to do that.
