please enjoy this illustration by Erik Blegvad of a man with four cats in his lap

it’s a line drawing of a man in a big comfy armchair who is overwhelmed by four cats who have decided to stand on his lap

Clown behavior. Payment processors shouldn’t get to decide what legal products you can buy, and the extent to which @itch.io has pre-emptively censored tens of thousands of titles is unacceptable. Visa and mastercard aren’t government bodies, but they’re acting like they are.

24 hours later, the staging in SoulSov is realllllly good. That little change that darkened the screen except for Loic and Ysme when they're whispering was really smart, and there's a ton of other little minor things that you don't realize are happening that really elevate the experience

Helix @triplehelix.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

The SoulSov writer hiding their cards and not hinting at all to the fact Tutu existed (via preview images and such) until Chapter 2 released is peak comedy

Helix @triplehelix.bsky.social · 08/03/2025

Making a little deal with myself to work on Game. And then play SoulSov part 2.

Saddest part is that I had to change some details from the initial idea, BUT those details were also a big part of my hook. RIP to my poor meow meow having to do customer service.

Played the demo for Set Yourself On Fire! Really good writing re: existential ennui. Also holy crap how did they do this in Ren'py

Normally I hate creative writing with anything involving a hard deadline, since I've found it's a recipe for burnout, but I really do want to make a VN. Just have to focus on doing what I can.

Think I'll try and do NaNoRenO next month! Got an idea worked out. Worst case, I crash out halfway through and spend the rest of the month playing monster hunter

Hi I opened a commission because I spent all my money registering the game on Steam. I would be really happy if I could draw your yuri couple. #vgen vgen.co/usjk0ec

in a hell of my own making (not pictured, but everything in this is rotating or sprinting across the screen)

I feel so bad when I open up a fairly standard VN and the splash screen has 'made in unity' please don't torture yourself

Most annoying part of the modern internet has to be how so much information is in video format. I don't want to watch a long video! I want to read a guy yapping about the ancient near east!

Thinking about Misericorde again and how there's a meta-layer of communication between the audience and the author entirely due to their past works and influences. There's a level of getting into the weeds of writing with regards to their Harry Potter-critical podcast, and Umineko is, well, Umineko.

I can't depend on you #1000xResist

Illustration of Watcher and ALLMOTHER from 1000xResist. It is a imitation piece referencing an image by @sometimes317 on Twitter of two figures hugging on the top left. ALLMOTHER in yellow wraps her arm around watcher's head in melancholy and a singular tear drop. Watcher in blue is stilled in the motion of stabbing her, with red splatter in the centre of them two.
'SpilledTE' is written under ALLMOTHER's shoulder.

The most powerful personality test for VN devs isn't what sort of story you tell, what sort of art you use, etc. It's about how fast you set your default text speed. Am I just a freak or does the average person just not prefer ~70% of the default renpy text speed bar.

Short story about a tenant looking for roommates but she's super cagey about the state of the house and it leads the prospective roommate to increasingly extreme conclusions about how haunted the house is. When in reality she just doesn't want to admit that the dishwasher is full of roaches.
