And after a thorough search I have found the blue tit and some markings on the tree and as I place a lot of twigs on the low branches, they were tossed down in one spot. I do edit the branches a lot lately, piling up more, which looks strange, but makes things complicated for the four legged culprit

they also don't deserve this. So, whoever did it forced me to dust the trap I wanted to use after several butchered sparrows not so long ago. I miss every single one of the birds that show up on my feeders. But as it is happening right under my nose and behind my back I grew tired again.

I need to find out who murders my chickadees, the ones that were always coming, chirping and eating nearby. I heard a scream after 3 am, unidentifiable. Found a few feathers, that looked suspicious, I was out there when my lunch arrived and now at 3 pm! I discovered clumps of feathes from a blue tit

Green babies. A carnivorous pitcher plant developed a little plant with an even tinier pitcher. Good old Matylda with food, crumbs around her mouth and peekaboo-ing from behind the yellow flower.

Nearly two weeks into hunting season and Yellowstone wolf 1273M has been killed just outside the park. Wolves don’t know where park boundaries end, yet crossing one can put them at risk of becoming a target. How many more wolves will be killed for the sake of a trophy? 🔗 ow.ly/AwRs50ZSo9R

I would suggest a differently coloured foliage as I always panic when I can't find her. Since she laid ootheca she is the master of disappearing from the free range plants to the ends unknown. But today in the flower right next to her tree, on the underside. #mantis Matylda
The underside of a yellow blossomed chrysanthemum. There sits Matylda, this time hiding well, not in plain sight. I had to use my flashlight while crawling under the table and then I noticed her shape. A red basking light shines from above onto the sheer curtains. It is already a dark evening.

Little doves in the kindergarten tree. #pigeonSky
Two juvenile doves perch on a spruce tree branch, seen from below. They are facing to the left, being all fluffy and frowny and sleepy. Quality of the pucture is low. I cannot help but feel sorry for them in this dangerous area among predators and hoomans.

Matylda's favourite spot is on my cap. She can spend hours up there, being carried around. And a pose for the Press. Sadly, she lost some peripherals.
A light green Praying mantis on the top side of my beige hat. She is facing to the right, her hunting claws folded.A close-up of mantis in a spotlight. She is facing to the left, her head is tilted to look at the photographer. Claws loosely folded. One leg up on the leaf. Same position as the previous picture, with Matilda looking at me.

after some hours of elaborating, I decided to take her home. She prefers side, where the windows are, crawls up to the (freshly installed) branch, that gives her an opportunity to hang upside down just right next to the glass, so the basking lamp shines right at her.
A view of the glass terrarium in the daylight and with the heating lamp on on an opposite side to the camera, just outside the terrarium. A dew concentrated on the glass and obscures the bottom part, setting very moody autumnal lighting. Mantis Matylda is right in that leafy branch.
Zoomed out photo of a Matylda's enclosure and a tripod with a heating lamp clamped on the tripod. There is one point of focus in the middle by the bright yellow light.

She seemed to enjoy being squished under a heat lamp. Masochist. But then she had trouble getting out and unhooking from the mesh once more. The smaller enclosure created for her safety was promptly left and I found her at the edge of a counter top, where the big terrarium sat at that moment. So,

It's interesting, we are trying to avoid any injury or discomfort to the animal, who, of course, sabotages all the effort. by finding exactly one flaw in the design. I rescued Matylda from between the ceiling layers and secured it once more. I literally sewed the plastic sheet onto the mesh.

After deep analysis and following the clues throughout the garden I came to the conclusion that the visitor might be another hedgehog. And what are you up to at four in the morning?
A nighttime photo of an area by the pond. There are rocks in the right part, that mark the pond polygon. One of the middle rocks is moved away. There are also small white pebbles with a circle and a letter H in the middle for the heliport for birds. Scarce little green plants grow all over the entrance.A green kidney bean pod laying between the rocks by the pond has been chewed on. From a photo one cannot tell that the grass has been stepped on when tunneling through the foliage.

"I co není vaše, se neničí" je hříšná, rebelská myšlenka, úplně mimo tento časoprostor. I letos musím celým famíliím vysvětlovat, že mi nemají orvávat keříčky (bílé bobule), že to tady pak vypadá naprosto příšerně, druhá půlka informace, že likvidují zvířátkům jídlo je pak hardcore sci-fi.

Matylda's enclosure was edited, I finally assembled the ceiling lodge for her. But my green friend prefers free range habitat. I understand, but sometimes it is necessary to have her safely in the terrarium. #invertebrates #mantis
Matylda's terrarium's measurements go like this: the base is 45 centimetres wide and deep and the whole habitat reaches 60 centimetres. With a waterproofed base it can be turned into a paludarium for example.

A top-down view with the door open and light coming from the left side. The contents are the same. Coco fiber for bedding, big driftwood set behind the planter to the left, leaning on real bark background, on the right is a small Y shaped cork branch. The terracotta pot in the middle holds a tall coleus plant that reaches the ceiling area with thinner and lighter twigs and branches intertwined with an artificial vine. Here is the mantis looking down from a jade plant with thick leaves. View us from the bottom below the mantis and up to her face. The red heating lamp is on and shines from behind.A green mantis strolls over the light gray fluffy sleeve towards me.A view from below the free range shrubbery shows two tall and branchy plants with a climbing vine in the small one. The red light shines from behind this forest Matylda sits on top of the jade plant.

I was able to remove those plastic twines, that have been left in the woodland by the farmers and their hay baler. I had no tools and a bunch is still entwined out there, despite my efforts, that took a lot of time til pitch black dark.
An oversized ball of dirty plastic twines in a black trash bag. It's a big bag, as big as the yellow trash bin. Luckily my fellow explorer had this bag in the backpack. Twines, next to the other trash, are super dangerous to wildlife.
