What remains one of the best life hacks I’ve ever learned: at any chain that has a phone number-based rewards system needed for discounts (CVS, Duane Reade, etc.), simply put in the local area code followed by 867-5309. There is always already an account. You will always get the discount.

The biggest threat AI poses to publishing is to unpublished writers. Easiest way to avoid AI generated slop is to read recognizable names - existing talent and widely read & praised books. You know, the already established. This “disruption” disproportionately impacts the underdog, not best sellers.

When creating PDFs, avoid using "Print to PDF." A screen reader user may still be able to access the text of PDFs created this way, but heading structure, alternative text, and any other tag structure will be lost. Using "Save As" or "Export" can preserve these tags.

When my Mike Nichols biography came out in 2021, one of the questions I was asked most often was "Why can't I stream Silkwood?" Due to absurd rights issues, it's been devilishly hard to find. I'm happy to say it's now on Hulu. And it's essential. One of his best, and unlike anything else he made.

#apple Mac mini seems like a better option than a laptop at this point. I need multiple monitors anyway and having a work setup and home setup with one computer that is 5”x5”x2” tall seems amazing. I also already have iPhone and iPad sooo using on the go isn’t a problem.
