a little late on this one, but july is disability pride month! just like the flag represents, all disabilities are equally valid and deserving of support, visible or not. did you know there is a major overlap between the disabled and trans community? link on more information in comments ^^

the disability pride flag: a grey base with five diagonal stripes: green, blue, white, yellow and red. the stripes all have different meanings representing the diverse disability community! if you know them, write them in the comments ^^

hii! ^^ TPP has been fairly quiet this year, and we think you should know why. due to personal issues, the previous committee could not manage TPP, leading to their resignation. TPP is being run by an interim committee, dedicated to making TPP a safe space for all trans people in portsmouth. ^^

WHAT IS A MASS LOBBY?

A mass lobby is when a group of people contact their MP or contact members of the House of Lords and arrange to meet them in parliament on the same day and at the same time.

It's a great way of making it clear to parliamentarians that their constituents (or in the case of the House of Lords, UK citizens) are passionate about an issue, and is an effective way of encouraging them to take action.

The Equalities and Human Rights Commission has produced a draft code of guidance to the Equality Act that - if implemented - will have a devastating impact on the day to day lives of trans+ people in the UK, excluding them from settings ranging from specialist support services to gym changing rooms and toilets.

We need our parliamentarians to step up and speak out NOW to prevent this draft guidance becoming law.

I wish he could see.

Two years ago, a childhood friend stopped talking to me because of a comic strip I made against that Harry Potter video game. I couldn't know it then because of NDAs, but he had been working on the game for a while. Today, as the anti-trans UK ruling that JK Rowling funded is already making life harder for trans and intersex people, I'm thinking about him. I wish he could see how much senseless violence, both symbolic and physical, the power we keep giving her has inflicted around the world, especially in the UK. I wish he could hear the distress and the pain that her harassment is causing to our communities. I wonder if he's gonna watch that harry potter reboot.
