There's where you're wrong. The Red Sox themselves possibly don't deserve it. Their fans, however, absolutely do. Maybe 200%.

The death penalty is a moral abomination. State-sanctioned barbarism pushed by incompetent morons and sanctioned by the Supreme Court. Absolute ghoul shit. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
The lone woman on Tennessee's death row was still alive after she was administered two lethal injections, her lawyer said in a motion seeking to halt her execution Wednesday night, a stunning development after the Supreme Court had stepped in to allow the state to put her to death.
At 8:26 p.m. local time, witnesses said
"executioners had injected both syringes of lethal injection chemicals and Pike is still alive and snoring," her lawyers said in a federal court filing.
They said Pike "has not lost consciousness and still has a heartbeat," and that curtains to the death chamber "have gone down twice."

One, this hilariously outs who all got the talking points in advance and how blatantly they parrot those. Two, Schmitt really thought today he'd launch himself to the VP nomination and with that a decent shot at the presidency down the line. Instead this is the only thing he'll be remembered for.

If you want to really know how the outrage machine gets fired up: 1. Schmitt plans to drop “bombshell” on Smith 2. Someone plants story that Schmitt is a Vance VP contender to run same day 3. Right-wing Twittersphere gets talking points 4. Schmitt steps in it 5. Scheduled tweets go out anyway

While I'm honestly not thrilled about "college" athletes earning literally millions (top Football/Basketball players clear $4-6MM a year), the fact that this Senate bill is supported by the SEC and sponsored by Ted F'ing Cruz means that I probably hate it. Right?

Sorry, I'm confused. This picture of Texas Indian-Americans hootin and hollering at a foot ball game is supposed to be evidence of non-assimilation of immigrants into American culture?

the White House is floating distributing more dyed diesel. it's the same ULSD with red dye and no taxes, so it could save on-road users ~60c/gal. but farmers already use dyed diesel and are still paying record prices. taxes aren't the problem, supply is.

There's an (algorithmic) playlist on Spotify called "Country Frequency" that is quite good. It's Country by Black artists, which is something that offends a lot of music directors at country stations. 90% of the tracks on it are better than "Choosin' Texas", and you haven't heard them either.

Funny thing. I do listen to country (though usually the "Americana" filtered version of it), including on the radio (hello KPIG!) I'd never heard the song either. I listened to it, was unimpressed, and I guess I'm glad that the music directors around here were similarly unimpressed.

So the referee actually started calling delay of game against Seattle, deep into the 2nd quarter? Better late than never, I guess, but they've missed like 4-5 of them, including on the Seahawks' single touchdown.

It is worth noting that the AI/ML powered betting nun has gone 10-4 (+5.09 units) in 3 weeks of #NCAAF. The writing needs a lot of improvement, but the picks are good. That record is considerably better than some of the professional grifters who are trying to sell you their "Picks of the week"

"Home River" means many different things. The river I grew up nearest was the Potomac, but I spent more time in the waters of the Shenandoah. But the river that I long for, that I will always want to go back to, is the Nantahala, especially the lower part before you get to the Georgia state line.
