Something I’ve noticed being in retail for 30 years, folks around Missouri, and this also goes for central & southern Illinois, will tell stories and often use the full name of the people in the story, even though you would never know or meet these people in your life. Maybe it’s a Midwest thing.

Cruelty in sports reminds me of Mizzou football coaches in 2005 when Aaron O'Neal, clearly passing out & dying on the field was forced to keep practicing while staggering, instead of rushing him to the hospital he was put in an office. Cause of death was meningitis but all signs were ignored. ☠️
