Regulatory reader here. A lot of the issues would be clarified or relieved if they fixed what ‘making available on the market’ means. Currently MAOTM includes shipments made free of charge— so just mailing a demo tape to a polish cousin would count as a commercial activity. And that’s silly.

Hill I will die on: Garlic is the most overrated and overused ingredient there is. Stop eating food with garlic in it for a while, then re-introduce it. It overpowers everything. Garlic powder is that unpleasantness, but concentrated.

This is a total headache when it happens to you. It shouldn't be difficult for streaming services to uniquely identify artists. Group tracks with same artist name but no ISRC codes on a single profile, fine. Most provide ISRC codes unique to us though. Streamers use those & this is mostly solved.

Listen. I spent more than a decade as a theatrical technician, rigging stages, hanging lights, flying scenery, etc. The number of times I have dropped anything on a stage with performers on it is zero. The number of times I’ve dropped something that might’ve killed someone is zero. This is major.

Hot take: it's daft to release music in Dolby Atmos format. If the playback system doesn't support Atmos, your music can end up barely audible unless volume is cranked to what becomes ear-bleeding levels when the next non-Atmos track comes on. You're just asking for listeners to skip your tracks.
