We don't use a lot of graphic design as we're a coffee roaster and we're pretty bad at marketing/Instagram etc. When we do need something designed, we use a person and not an AI. They're skilled. It's their job and I don't want to be part of the reason someone loses income. We all need to pay bills

After his time in the West Bank, he went back to Gaza and trained young footballers. Then October 7, 2023 happened. Then the war. On August 6 last year, he went to queue for food at an aid distribution site in southern Gaza and was killed by Israeli fire.

Suleiman al-Obeid left behind his wife and five children. He is not the only Palestinian footballer to be killed. Local officials put the death toll of players in the hundreds. Sports facilities and school playgrounds have been destroyed.

I've a self imposed annual "social" tax of 4% on my business. I'm not evan a millionaire but when I look around me consider myself lucky. It helps my staff, a Colombian co-op and some good causes. A once off 5% seems a pretty good deal and would do an awful lot of good for an awful lot of people.

I don’t care if Imbibe doesn’t grow any bigger. I’m happy. We’re small but very viable and it’s gone beyond my aspirations. I do wish the idea of how we’re run got more traction and find it frustrating it hasn’t. If we can give up 4% of all our income, large scale businesses could easily do similar.

Made a donation in Panama last year. It’s where best coffee in world comes from and we’re one of very few roasters in Europe to sell it. The major donar behind the charity was Hacienda La Esmeralda, the most famous coffee farm in the world. Got a kick out of fact they’ve put us in their book.
