That we can see and correct our mistakes is commendable, but this does not help with building confidence in science. Maybe confirmation was needed before a press release of false positive results. www.bbc.com/news/article...

I must still watch the entire panel session but I am glad that Mnangagwa showed a backbone in this little snippet. How it plays out in his governing policies and practice is a discussion for another day.

It's not out of character for RFK to fund this type of questionable research, it's who he is. I am more disappointed with whoever in Guinea-Bissau would allow this study on their children. Perhaps I am being an idealist, but where is our pride and dignity as Africans to agree to this idiocy?

open.substack.com/pub/tomfried.... A bad day for one of the cornerstones towards elimination of viral hepatitis. I hope that African countries see the folly of our American colleagues and do not follow suit. We are already lagging behind the targets to be distracted by this. #NoHep

I liked Chamisa even when he sold the masses false hope. However, the use of the word president to describe himself is unncessary and over the top. He doesn't even have a political party yet calling himself president. It's way past the time to drop the student activist mentality.

Lula is saying the truth that developing nations are not supposed to say loudly. It's interesting noticing the groups that are lambasting Ramaphosa in SA for standing up to the playground bully. It's the same groups that found apartheid acceptable as long as they benefitted.

The discussion reminds me what many African countries have endured over the years. Colonialists visited our shores, "discovered" and "named" our landmarks, e.g Mosi-oa-Tunya - widely referred to as Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe/Zambia "was discovered" by David Livingstone. Colonial names have stuck.
