Was curious about the @atproto.com decentralising gubbins, so now have a @eurosky.social handle. Easy migration and now my data is on European servers. It's cool how you can do it if you want, but if you don't or it's too confusing you can just... not, and the whole experience is still the same.

Things feel grim right now. Imo a statement is needed, preferably by a coalition of national leaders, stating what the UK's values are and what won't be tolerated. Silence and inaction legitimises the far right. Their actions and what they say are not OK and they do represent me or my country.

Here is a photo of Chesterfield Town centre in 1958. I walk down this street reasonably often, and every time I do I think "Buddy Holly walked down here, how strange". If Buddy turned left here and then took 25 years to walk about twenty feet, he'd be able to get lunch at McDonald's.

I'm not sure who took this photo, but it's Chesterfield Town centre, 1958. The market place is just visible in the background on the left. And there's Buddy Holly, looking just like Buddy Holly, in a long black coat, walking towards the camera.

This person is right. I do not like Donald Trump, and he lies all the time. But if you actually watch this clip, he of course is a rambling mess but he's talking about the day after and how he was "carried away by firemen" because it looked like some other building might come down.
