Tourists just touristing about in the middle of the mayhem in France. I can't get over how chilled they seem, it's quite surreal.

I want to try this but immediately feel very stupid. I click 'Install on Android', it opens this note in a tab. What now?

My 8-year-old son is sending me threatening messages via filenames on my laptop
A screenshot of the name of a file on my laptop's desktop. The file is a picture of a Pokémon, and the filename reads 'IF YOU ARE READING THIS YOU ARE ARESTED'. Beneath this is another filename which begins 'IT IS ILLIGAL TO READ ...'

Bloody brilliant. I don't hate Churchill, but because I'm not a total plank I'm able to acknowledge that for all his virtues, the man had flaws. All people do, so treating them like irreproachable gods on notes and statues is weird. Never met a bee, puffin, or owl anyone had a problem with.
A Telegraoh headline reads Bees, puffins and owls to replace Churchill on new banknotes. Above is a picture of a five pound note featuring Winston Churchill.

The 'Left Exit 12 off ramp' meme. A car in the foreground is titled 'Greens'. The arrow pointing forward on the road is titled 'Continue being a bit more normal and gaining support'. The off ramp arrow is titled 'Do something bonkers'. The car is aggressively turning towards the off ramp.

Not a bet I particularly want to win, but I'd get more than I put down if I cashed out now. Gone from 80/1 to 30/1 since December...

I took my boys down the park with their 2 mates the other day to play football. They spent the whole time collecting these instead. This is only my boys' half. TBF they're not interested in hanging them on strings and battling them, they just thought were cool to collect.

Huh
Part of a 2005 Guardian article on Evan Davis: his in-house nickname at the BBC is Tinsel Tits on account of his - alleged - nipple rings, he never rolls up his sleeves on account of his - alleged - tattoo. And finally, and most rivetingly, according to various gay chatsites on the internet, and my friend in the BBC newsroom, he - allegedly - has a 'Prince Albert', so-called because, and I'm quoting Wikipedia here as in my innocence I was forced to Google it, 'the Prince Consort is said to have had a ring attached to his penis which was then strapped to his thigh in order to maintain the smooth line of the tight trousers that were in fashion at the time'.

This exchange is bang on about all tired generational claim memes
First post: As a GenX it’s fun to see that all generations just end up saying the same things about themselves once they hit a certain age.

Reply: I'm almost fucking positive this started as either a GenX or Boomer meme as well which makes it even worse because they couldn't even be bothered to start a new circlejerk

Reply: I saw the Gen X version of this like 6 months ago

Name a non-LOTR character who could resist the One ring
Spotty from the 80s/90s kids TV show Superted. He's a yellow robot alien thing with green spots and what looks like a dark red mohawk. He has white gloves/hands.

A toilet door with the usual male, female, baby-changing and disabled signs, but the baby's head has been scratched off and it now looks a bit like a duck on a table.

Beautiful. I lived there briefly a little while ago - here's the view looking the other way from the bridge.

I've always wondered
A suggested question in the results of a Google search. The question is "What did Kurt Cobain think of Foo Fighters?". The answer is "Kurt Cobain never knew the Foo Fighters because the band did not exist while he was alive."

I feel like I'm going a bit mad. What on earth about the farcical situation over the last few months would make anyone genuinely hopeful that the Strait will reopen?! I don't understand. It's like a crypto pump and dump but every week on the same shitcoin.
A BBC headline above an image of an oil tanker reads 'Oil prices fall on hopes Strait of Hormuz could reopen'.

If you're jaded by all the FIFA and Infantino bullshit, support your local National League/NL North/NL South team. - It's cheap - Your money makes a difference - You can sit near the pitch - You can almost always get tickets - There's no VAR - Decent quality football - You might see a future star

Love that the DBS's 'Update Service' page features an image that I'd guess was last updated in 2003
A screenshot of the Disclosure and Barring Service's 'Update Service' page. Two people in suits are discussing what they see on an ancient laptop screen. A pre-smartphone era mobile sits on the desk next to the laptop.
