i know i've been pretty quiet but here's the result of my January: a totally handmade, fully-functional marionette created for a local winter-themed puppet show. she's called the Winter Maw & she'll eat you alive, just like real winter

Lithograph by Rabindranath Tagore, ca. 1928–30 (V&A IS.89-1961). The V&A describes the subject as a 'a prehistoric looking creature'. Interesting, given that Tagore's Hibbert Lectures of 1930 alluded to extinct 'megalomaniac monsters' whose weighty armour hindered their 'true progress'.

V&A description: Reproduction of a watercolour painting, printed in coloured inks on paper, in this painting we see the artist explores his interest in movement and semi-abstract compositions. He has used hard and angular lines to draw the figure of a prehistoric looking creature (rather like a camel). In this case, the artist conveys the creature's agony by giving it a wide-open mouth and by bending its neck backwards. The artist has applied paint in an expressionist style characteristic of his mature work.
