If this is such a threat why isn’t academia, which is usually at the forefront of research, giving some inkling of insight? A survey of 1,250 recent papers on AI self-improvement isn’t complete but come’on there should be some evidence of this runaway RSI

I don’t buy it! Is there any academic literature where unbounded recursive self-improvement has been shown? Chen, Wang, and Qu’s July 2026 survey is an excellent resource and mentions that “Bounded self-refinement is an engineering success” but there is no evidence for fast approaching AGI

This is very disturbing. The charges were producing, distributing and possessing child sexual abuse material - that isn’t protected under the 1st amendment so why is “AI generated” content?

I wonder where the judge draws the line between AI generated and not AI generated. Is a basic modification of background color using AI considered generated? What about adding a filter? Is that considered a generated or adjusting contrast all with AI.
