Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Mark Carney is actually a far worse and dangerous human being than Pierre Poilievre because Poilievre is such a blatantly unlikable human being, while Carney is a far more accomplished and convincing con artist.

Realizing you are going to be poor when you are old is a gut-punch. I was forced to move from DB to pension at my work. I just got a letter informing me what my pension would be when I retire. Turns out if I work until I’m 65 in 2050, my pensions pension will be 35k.

2... it was perceived in the 80s and 90s: 1) a pro-Bay street party that is 2) especially driven by partisan interests. The first part was especially clear since the arrival of Carney. The second is even more clear with today's annoucement with regard to senate appointment.

Reading Bill C-22’s updated version & the government changed metadata retention from a year to 6 months which is still a Section 8 Charter violation. Anyone who votes for this bill tomorrow does so knowing it is a violation of your fundamental Charter rights & does not deserve to hold public office.

"Third Way" liberal politics involves *saying* things that working people love, but *doing* things that sociopathic plutocrats love. It works ...right up until voters notice that you're not *doing* the things. That realisation breeds cynicism and fury and paves the way for fascist strongmen. 2/

If we actually had clean indoor air standards, robust vax policy and funding for next generation vax and antivirals, and required masking in key settings like healthcare? This would be much less of a misery for everyone, and CERTAINLY much less of a mental and financial burden.

Meta just paid the lowest effective federal tax rate in its history. Thanks to tax breaks and loopholes, it avoided $13.7B in 2025 federal income taxes. But now it's planning to lay off 10% of its global workforce (8,000 people) by May 20 — with more job cuts later this year. Trickle down hoax.

If you think the ruling class and super rich think you are any more important than the school teacher or mom in Iran, I got news for you. They will bomb you too if you become a problem for them. You are just one of the peasants. Class solidarity across the globe is the only way.

All they care about is keeping their money and power. They think they are safer that way than by banding together with the rest of us. But if folks wake up now, before tech strangles us and we are starving, we can stop them

tiredcrohny.bsky.social @tiredcrohny.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
I don’t think the rich actually deny climate change in private. They know it’s coming and they are preparing for it. It’s easier to hoard wealth and plan for a mass famine or water shortage for the poors visa vie tech than to actually pull together with humanity to stop it from happening.

tiredcrohny.bsky.social @tiredcrohny.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
All of this. He’s part of the problem. He doesn’t care if the peasants don’t have jobs. The rich have decided they don’t need us so they are replacing human labor with tech and will leave us to rot when we are no longer useful. Look at social services. Look at wealth transfer to the rich.

Spain invested heavily in clean energy over the last 6 years. Now, as gas prices rise, Spain has some of the lowest electricity costs on the continent. In August 2025, Spain used zero coal — just 10 years ago it powered 25% of the country. This is what energy independence actually looks like. 🌎

An airborne virus is a virus that can infect other people through unseen particles in the air, sometimes for hours after the sick person has left the area! Masks and clean, ventilated air can reduce the risk of getting sick from airborne viruses or infecting others.

I'ma say it.
"America in decline" is cis white, black-pilled nostalgia cosplay bullshit. Right or left. It's honky nihilism.

Decline from when, exactly?
When Reagan let people die of AIDS?
Before gay marriage existed?
When we lived under the permanent threat of nuclear annihilation?
Jim Crow?
The Gilded Age?
Slavery?

Be specific. Name the year you miss. Because every version of "great again" seems to mean fewer rights, more silence, and someone else doing the suffering.

History isn't a golden age, it's a crime scene we keep pretending was a theme park. The country isn't declining. Your preferred hierarchy is.
