Two years ago today we were hanging out in the top of Oita tower overlooking the city of #Oita in Kyushu, #Japan. If you’ve never been I highly recommend it for the onsen and the glorious weirdness.

So 2’years ago today I was wandering around the fine city of Oita in Kyushu Japan which happens to be the sister city of Austin Texas. These are all awesome stores and do read the alt text but my face is pizza-la that makes amazing Japanese pizza and pizza for dogs!

Two years ago today we were hanging out in Fukuoka and went to see the awesome Gundam at Lalaport. On our way back we discovered they were having “Gibier” (wild game in French) festival at the Fukuoka train station. We has some amazing wild boar and “deeer” gyoza and some incredible local beer.

So 2 years ago today we were at Owakudani in Japan which is the “great boiling valley”. It’s an active volcano and awesome. We got some black sulfur eggs cooked in the volcano and were lectured on the IF WARNING SIGNS GO OFF SEEK SHELTER OR YOULL DIE which is fun. Also of course hello kitty

Yesterday 2 years ago we visited the giant Buddha and their enormous sandals in Kamakura, Japan,. We also almost had 20 accidents on the tiny roads around town some of which were from pissed off locals who hate the tourists visiting. We tried to be respectful but we’re not always successful.

So 2 years ago today I was at the Inoshima Jinja (shrine) on Inoshima island about 2 hours SSW of Tokyo. I was going to do a big rundown but while it’s a beautiful shrine complex (3 shrines) it’s also completely inaccessible if you have mobility issues. Here’s some pretty pictures from it anyway.

Two years ago today we were exploring the Anamori Inari Jinja (shrine) just near Hamada airport in Tokyo. According to legend you used to enter it by a tunnel of 46,797 Tori gates so closed you wouldn’t get wet if it rained.

So I was in a haneda airport hotel 2 years ago looking at the sunsets.. I made an amazing breakfast from a combini and vending machines and watched the sunrise from the rooftop garden while talking with family in Australia. It was functional and awesome.

Once again, more anatomically incorrect skeletons for Halloween… my personal pet peeve. Obviously scorpions have exoskeletons and armadillos armor is effectively leather so not skeletal. I am such a mood killer.

Weirdly, 6 years ago, my elder sister and I were discussing that I should put my memories of learning how to pond like and adult in the most awkward Victorian way and created a cover because we’re both weird that way. I need to create this book for real.

So trigger warning for animals eating animals. Some time ago we had an infestation of mosquito fish (an invasive species) in our goldfish pond. We had to drain the pond to be rid of them. But then we had a tray full of fish that I couldn’t bare to just kill. So I let nature take its course.

Sixteen years ago today I was cleaning out my dad’s unused and neglected photo developing room and inhaling ALL the toxic spilled chemicals. I may now have bland super powers but there were also some fantastic finds (much in need of cleaning).
