Update: I got a 6-month blocker from my GIC next month and my partner has mostly got her stuff sorted through a different GP. I’m going to change GP once I’ve got this injection. Goal is to stay until I’ve had my gender affirming surgery on the NHS and then recover then leave the country

Our GP has decided to take us off HRT (my partner and myself), even though we are with a GIC. Directly from the practise manager.

We have received a request from your specialist asking the Practice to enter into a Shared Care Agreement for your treatment.

Your request has been carefully considered in line with our Shared Care Agreements Policy and the responsibilities of the Practice under our NHS Personal Medical Services (PMS) Contract.

After careful consideration, we are unable to accept responsibility for prescribing and/or monitoring your treatment under a Shared Care Agreement.

This decision does not affect your access to specialist care. Your specialist remains responsible for prescribing your medication, arranging any necessary monitoring, and reviewing your treatment whilst it remains under specialist management.

The Practice understands that this may be disappointing. However, Shared Care Agreements are voluntary arrangements and GP practices are not contractually required to participate. Each request is considered individually, taking into account patient safety, clinical governance, the availability of specialist support, and the Practice's clinical capacity.

If, in the future, responsibility for your treatment transfers into routine primary care or national guidance and local commissioning arrangements change, we would be happy to review any future request.

If you have any questions regarding your ongoing treatment, please contact your specialist team in the first instance.

Ashley James, celebrity star of Good Morning has resigned from Girl Guides in response to their exclusion of trans girls.

I am - and always will be - proud of my time as a Girlguiding ambassador. As a former Rainbow and Brownie myself, I know first hand what a difference these spaces make to girls. I've seen it in the faces of the young people I met on site visits - including trans girls, who were every bit as bright, joyful and deserving as any other child.
Which is why the organisation's decision to exclude trans girls has devastated me.
Some of those girls and their families have now found themselves caught in the crossfire of culture wars they never asked to be part of. I am truly heartbroken for the trans community who simply want to live their lives, be included, and have access to safe, supportive spaces. Trans girls experience the same threats as other women and girls - they are not a threat to us. They are our sisters.
And so, with a very heavy heart, I will be stepping down as a Girlguiding ambassador with immediate effect.
I stand with my trans sisters today and always. Inclusion makes us all stronger, and I will continue to use my voice to fight for a world where every girl - cis or trans - grows up knowing she ngs.

The Tribunal held that propriety is a social construct and standards of decency change over time. It also implicitly highlighted that the claimant was mistaken in believing the Supreme Court’s judgment granted her & her employer carte blanche to engage in discrimination. 🤭

216. The specific requirement under Reg 20(2) to provide separate toilet facilities for men and women is for the purposes of moral propriety. What is necessary for moral propriety does not necessarily depend upon a biological interpretation. Moral propriety is a social construct and standards of decency change over time. The GRA provides that a trans woman with a GRC is a woman for some purposes but not all. Some believe a trans woman is a woman; some do not.

The successful Supreme Court case brought by a group of “middle-aged women” against the SNP’s plans for gender self-ID is being considered as a film or TV series after stirring interest among TV producers and the journalist behind Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
For Women Scotland (FWS) began its legal challenge, over the definition of a woman, after Nicola Sturgeon’s Scottish government proposals which would have brought in gender self-identification for anyone aged 16 and over without the need for a medical certificate.
The campaign group won its case — the court ruling that a person’s sex was determined by biology — and now Nick Wallis, the reporter who acted as consultant on the ITV drama after writing a book exposing the Horizon scandal, has said he believes the story “lends itself’ to a TV adaptation.
