Rosh HaShanah is a time for renewal and hope, part of a cycle of reflection, making amends and bringing about change in our lives which begins with the preceding month of Elul and ends on Yom Kippur (except we have two more last chances because there's a deep understanding of human psychology in

I made this account, maybe two years ago, because I wanted to connect with Jews again. And I inadvertently abandoned this account because my feed made sure I never forgot how vulnerable we are. Today I'm back scrolling Rosh HaShanah messages from strangers seeking that small bit of family and home.

A lot of people have convinced themselves that there’s this one weird trick where you replace “the Jews” with “Israel” and Protocols-level neo-Nazi rhetoric magically becomes progressive

I’m still baffled by those in the LGBTQ+ community who are pro-Hamas/Houthi/Hezbollah/IRGC. How do they ignore that those groups hate them along with Israel & Jews? Those groups want to kill anyone who isn’t a cishet Muslim. They have more in common with Christian Nationalists than we do but>

it is not coincidental that the main excuse for antisemitism before the creation of Israel was that Jews were stateless, and the main excuse after it has been that Jews have the effrontery to want a state.

Wee dog interrupted his post-sausage feast food coma to beg for more food. Absolutely sound asleep. I go to the kitchen, there he is in the door, head cocked and perpetually imploring Cavalier eyes. Five minutes later, he's out cold again.

I think I am rapidly coming to the conclusion (despite many years of giving people the benefit of the doubt), that people don't actually care about Israeli policy. They don't care about settlements. It's not about human rights or the fight for equality. That's all a ruse. They just don't like Jews

This is why Jews in the UK are thinking, "should we get the fuck out of here?" It's got nothing to do with security funding, government platitudes. It's got everything to do with a culture of permissive antisemitism. Where Jews can be targeted, and these attacks then get defended, justified

Text discussing how "Zio" was used as a coded slur for "Jew" by a former KKK Grand Wizard to associate Jewish people with control of media, finance, and government, making antisemitism seem socially acceptable. It further explains how similar frameworks have migrated beyond the far-right, with terms like "Zio tears" and "Anti-Zionism" being used by the left for anti-Israel and anti-Jewish activism, repurposing old tropes under a new guise.

Post with text discussing the connection between anti-Zionism and antisemitism: "omristuff Someone asked and I answered so figured I would share. The claims people make that “anti-Zionist” is somehow disconnected from hatred of Jews is dishonest at best. This pejorative use of Zio / Zionism did not emerge in a vacuum. It was deliberately popularised by white supremacists as a substitute for the word “Jew,” allowing classic antisemitic conspiracy theories to be repackaged as political critique. Changing the label doesn’t change the true intent or the impact."

Here’s the answer, from an excellent history by Captain Allen on X. x.com/cptallenhist...
Captain Allen ®
@CptAllenHistory
X.com
The word "Nakba" (catastrophe) wasn't invented by Palestinians to describe Jewish "ethnic cleansing."
It was coined in 1948 by a Syrian Arab historian, Constantin Zureiq, in his book The Meaning of the Disaster.
He used it to describe the humiliating failure of the Arab world - their leaders' arrogance, their lies to their own people, their military incompetence, and their refusal to accept a Jewish state.
Zureiq wrote that the Arabs had "imaginary victories" and put their public
"to sleep" with boasts — until the real disaster hit: they couldn't wipe out the Jews.
The original Nakba wasn't about refugees. That a rebrand from several decades later.
It was about the Arab leaders' catastrophic decision to launch a war of extermination ... and lose.
They've spent 77 years rebranding their own failure as Jewish guilt.
That's the only real "Nakba" they can't forgive.
