Oh I forgot about components. Extracting materials for computer components is a grueling job, the materials themselves or their method of transformation are often toxic for workers or the environment. And since workers who extract it come, again, from the global south, they can't protest about it.

Gen Ai's curation process is a humanitarian hell where hundreds of underpaid workers from the global south must, at best, show the AI what's what in a corpused image (that's a tedious, stupefying job), at worse be exposed to horrible images in order to tell ai that those are not okay to generate.
