The difference is that people take notice of you. From now on it will be known world-wide as the River Kelvin.

Following the example of the LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD, I have decided to change the name of our local river here in the West End of Glasgow. I have signed an executive order to change its name to the RIVER KELVIN. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

I've asked this before, but I often have the beginnings of a little childhood prayer rattling around in my head: "As I enter into sleep, keep me Father keep; As I seek a safe repose, Christ my eyelids close" ...but I can't remember any more. Does anyone know it?

“Those prayers have faces now. Faces that I won’t easily forget.” Come to this post for the complex ecclesiastical politics, stay for the powerful internationalism (that should/must be) at the heart of the church.

I think a lot of people who have previously voted Labour want different policies and behaviours from the Labour Party more than wanting it to have a different leader.

Here at St George's Cross we are in the middle of the annual Feast day revels and the festooning of the dragon is almost complete. The parade route this year takes in all the local schools and will be led by a hundred primary school children with kazoos. The sun is shining and the bunting is up.

Today is the Transgender Day of Visibility. Trans folk are part of St Mary's Cathedral, Glasgow. Although like most institutions we have much to learn, I hope St Mary's can continue to be a place of welcome. Also visible to me is the relentless oppression of trans people in the media and daily life.

Here's @pinknews.bsky.social completely misunderstanding the church. The new Archbishop supported the LLF process which sought to bring about faux blessings to prevent equal marriage. There isn't a shred of evidence she is in favour of equality.

I dislike the bickering they create. Everyone seems to know how exactly how Jesus commanded the Chrism Mass to be.

I do think that the modern fantasies that medieval priests all went to their cathedrals for the chrism and that 'everyone went to their mother church' on Lent 4 are roughly equivalent and seem to discount the transport issues of doing so.
